This is quite a good format for showing the development of the main stories of Rangers’ title winning 1988/1989 season (which turned out to be the first of the ‘9 In A Row’).

Maurice Johnston’s signing, David Murray’s takeover, Durrant (and others) injury, the 3 cup campaigns and the league campaign are all covered in a diarised style.

The only thing that could have been improved would be to maybe try and align it more chronologically but I understand that the format chosen better serves to treat each topic individually in separate chapters which works well in itself. One of the chapters however did get a little bit mixed up with its dates at times - whether that’s the publishers error or the way the diary was written originally I don’t know! 😅

But overall it does a very good job at covering the main talking points of an important season in a fairly straight forward manner.
